Log-in Difficulties?

The Members Area is run by very sophisticated software to make everything as simple and intuitive as possible.  But, you can't experience that unless you can log in.  Right?  So, here are the most commonly reported difficulties and the most common solutions.

Problem:  I didn't get the e-mail with the log-in information after I paid at PayPal.

Answer:  The system sent it to the address you entered in the registration form.  If you didn't get it in your inbox, there are a couple of possibilities.

  1. Your e-mail software (or service) routed it to the Junk Mail box.  Check there.  As a security precaution it DOES NOT have "Kevin Smith" or "Kevin Smith Show" in the subject line.

  2. Your spam filters are eating it.  In this case, you will need to either deactivate your spam filters temporarily (until you get the e-mail), or you will have to configure your spam filters to allow all e-mail coming from kevinsmithshow.com

After you set your spam filters for receiving e-mail from kevinsmithshow.com, go to the Login page and do the "Lost Password" form.  It is located on the right side of the page.  This will re-send the e-mail to the address you used when you registered.

Problem:  Absolutely nothing I am doing is working.

Answer:  Are you using FireFox browser?  If so, there is not much anyone on earth can do to help you.  It is a problematic piece of software that many major software developers no longer even aim at supporting.  If you absolutely hate IE, you may want to try Opera or Safari broswers.  They are excellent, fast, and secure, and lack all the problems you will encounter all over the internet with FireFox.   Both Opera and Safari claim to be the fastest browser in the world.  Who knows?  But they are both fast.

Problem: I have used my correct username and password, and I still can't login to the Members Area.

Answer:  Usernames and passwords are case sensitive and can not include anything that was not entered in your registration process.  For example, let's say your username is doodlebug.  "Doodlebug" is not the same as "doodlebug" and not the same as "doodlebug ". 

Note:

"Doodlebug" is capitalized

"doodlebug" is not capitalized

"doodlebug " has a space after the "g"

These are 3 distinctively different usernames and are not interchangeable. 

So, if your username is "doodlebug" then "Doodlebug" and "doodlebug " are not going to work.  Only "doodlebug" will work.  The same principle applies to the password.

Finally, the focus and the locus

Computers can be wonderful or frustrating as hades.  We understand the tendency people sometimes have to assume there is a bug in our site or our software.  We also understand our tendency to think there isn't.  The fact is, computers and software sometimes pick up quirks and errors. This is especially true with heavy usage.  So, the problem could be on either side of the equation.  However, if tons of people around the world are logging in and using our Members Area all the time, and without a problem, the most likely locus of the problem is somewhere on your side of the equation.  We want to help you locate it, and resolve it, if we can. After you have tried the solutions offered on this page, if you are still having problems, please contact us through the "Member Support" selection on our Contact page.  E-mails sent any other way have only a 1% chance of getting through to Kevin. 

If you do send a Member Support e-mail, understand that Kevin cannot do anything at all with your issue for four hours daily.  Beginning 1 hour before the show, and lasting until 1 hour after the show, he is tied up with production.  So, if your issue occurs in that time period, be patient.  He will get to it ASAP.
